Online Casino Adds to Bizarre Collection
An Antigua-based online casino made another bizarre purchase this week, adding ceramic bowl hand painted by Richard Pryor to their collection.
This major online casino is well known for its collection of unusual objects, often with symbolic religious status, but for this item they have let go of the trend.
The ceramic bowl, bought for $7,099 on auction on eBay featured a self portrait of Richard Pryor, along with the caption, “Little Black Man in Big White World”, which the representatives of the casino said they felt made the piece special.
Prior had donated the bowl to the Geauga Human Society, just weeks before his death on December 10th last year. The Humane Society, a nonprofit organization that helps animals in need, offered to return the piece to Pryor’s widow Jennifer, but she refused, reportedly saying that she would prefer the bowl to be used to raise funds for the charity. The bowl was put up for auction on eBay, where it was purchased by the online casino.
A spokes person for the online casino said the online casino is extremely happy with the purchase and that it would take a prime position in the online casino’s extensive collection of one-of-a-kind objects and that the bowl is a great tribute to one of the best comedians of all time.
The ceramic bowl will join the online casino’s extensive collection in a nationwide tour that will be a kind of traveling museum, the online casino’s trademark marketing angle. The majority of the museum’s proceeds as well as the purchases themselves have gone to help worthwhile charities; something the CEO of the online casino says is good for the online casino, because it brings a lot of media attention while helping to raise funds for needy causes.
The online casino’s CEO is also reported to have stated that the auctions were a win-win situation for both the charities and the online casino, and that they are happy to help the Geauga Humane Society in their efforts.

The online casino’s acquisitions include a grilled cheese sandwich bearing an image of the Virgin Mary, William Shatner’s Kidney stone and a used pregnancy test purported to be the one used by Britney Spears.
William Shatner’s kidney stone brought in a massive $25,000 for Habitat for Humanity, while Britney Spears’ Pregnancy Test, raised $5001 for two charities, the Candlelighters Childhood Cancer Foundation, and the Easter Seal Society, which gives assistance to handicapped children.
The online casino has also recently bought a piece of sheet metal emblazoned with an image of a face that some say looks like the Virgin Mary, and others claim resembles Jim Morrison. The piece was bought on eBay for $1,500, from a hardware store employee who found it at work.
Representatives from the online casino were unconcerned about the ambiguity of the image, saying that the face was plain to see and they were happy to leave it to individual viewers to decide whether the image was the Virgin Mary or whomever.
Also recently acquired by the online casino were four toilets from the house of the late head of the Grateful Dead, Jerry Garcia and a McDonald’s french-fry that looked like Abraham Lincoln.
